LOW-CARB SOURDOUGH LAUNCHES IN THE UK! We’re creating a bakery first, with the launch of our low-carb sourdough – now available for customers across the country. With the demand for lower carb bread continuing to rise, the Robert Andrew low-carb bakery team has developed sourdough with less than half the carb count of standard bread and sourdough. It has lower sugar levels, more fibre and is boosted with plant protein. As the first low-carb sourdough brand in the UK, we’ve combed sourdough expertise with low-carb baking science. Our products have been crafted to provide a new option for lower carb lifestyles and those with specific dietary requirements – who want to change their eating habits, but not their enjoyment of bread. LAUNCH PRODUCT HEROES We’re launching with two of our bakery favourites – both made using our signature sourdough, which is fermented for over 30 hours, then baked and finished with artisan bakery expertise. It means customers can enjoy the taste and texture, with quality ingredients and less than half the carbs. The bloomer has just 5.6g of carbs per 30g slice and 41 per cent of the carbs of standard bread, along with 63% more protein, 73% more fibre and 60% less sugar*. The first batch of products in our online bakery shop features our sliced wholegrain half bloomer and pack of four low-carb sourdough rolls. The products are ready to eat fresh from the pack and loaves can also be re-crisped in the oven to add a distinctive sourdough crunch. The bread is suitable for home freezing too, so you can stock up and use when needed.
